The Reconnection - an interview with Eric Pearl

Eric Pearl, the author of The Reconnection: Heal Others, Heal Yourself, kept me laughing during this entire interview. His amazing method of reconnecting DNA strands "came" to him in 1983. Here is an excerpt of our conversation.

Connie: Tell me what Reconnection is where did the name come from?

Eric: First, The Reconnection is a name I came up with trying to understand what the process is. I was a chiropractor for 12 years, with one of the largest practices here in LA. Then one Friday I left work as a chiropractor and I came back on Monday as something else--what I didn't know. Patients reported they could feel my hands before I touched them and they experienced healings from cancer, chronic fatigue, aids related diseases, cerebral palsy, and other illnesses from me simply holding my hands near them. I'm now the subject of ongoing research at the University of Arizona and am invited to speak around the world. Researchers tell me I seem to be a bridge between science and spirituality. My gift is that I can tap into a healing energy that allows others to heal or reconnect with their own healing ability. Even bigger is that I can transmit this ability to others which is why I wrote the book The Reconnection, to teach others how to bring healing to their children, parents, families and friends, almost anyone. So the reason I call it the Reconnection evolved from people saying "What is it your did?" I'd say "I didn't do anything and don't tell anyone!" And more and more people would show up and say "I'll have what she had."

Connie: (Laughter)

Eric: People were saying "Can you teach this?" and I 'd say "No, how can I teach it if I don't even know what it is?"

Connie: (More laughter)

Eric: I had quite famous people come to me and tell me to go out and teach it and I still said I couldn't. Finally, I realized people were becoming attuned and could carry new, larger, more comprehensive energies than ever before. So, Andrew Weil invited me to speak at the University of Arizona and his head researcher asked if he could bring a group to work with me. He brought in a group and began measuring their body skin temperature and moisture levels, brain waves, random event generation and gamma radiation in the space. I taught them to feel the energy, recognize it, play with it. Then the group was measured again. Virtually all of their measurements increased statistically, except the gamma radiation in the room which decreased statistically. This surprised researchers.

I started traveling on spare weekends and since I didn't know what to call it others started naming it. In New Jersey it was Pearl Technique; in the midwest, High Energy Technique and some place else it was Dr. Pearl's High Frequency. I had to come up with a name.

Between January and April 1984 a number of patients went into a sort of trance as I worked on them. During the trance they repeated some of the following phrases: "We are here to tell you to continue what you are doing. What you are doing is bringing light and information onto the planet. What you are doing is reconnecting strings and strands." I knew that a lot of answers and insights were in the phrases, reconnecting strings and strands.

Also, there is a story that relates to the time when there was a separation between humans and the universe, the fall from the Garden of Eden in Judeo-Christian tradition, in other cultures too. The story is that at one time the meridian lines on our bodies were much more effective than they are now. They were our tie to the universe. These lines connected our body to the planet, sacred vortex cities such as Sedona, Machu Pichu and Giza and out to the rest of the universe. At the time of the separation we were disconnected from that system and we began to evolve at our own rate and the universe evolved at it's own rate. These new lines bring in faster, stronger frequencies like a giant spiritual DSL. That's why we began to call it The Reconnection. Long answer!

Connie: In your book you talk about the movie Resurrection, which is one of my all time favorite movies. Why is this movie so meaningful to you?

Eric: When I first saw that film I was a student who lived close to an inexpensive theater. For 'couch change' you could see two movies--one, you knew and the other you usually didn't. Resurrection was the one I'd never heard of. I was fascinated, because my mother died giving birth to me and then came back to life and she'd tell me that story.

Early in the film the main character drives off a cliff and dies, then comes back to life. They show the experience my mother talked about: moving through a tunnel with caring people pointing her toward the light. Then as the movie continues the main character finds that her hands heal people. Ellen Burstyn was great. (Don't watch the remake!) I watched as amazing healings came through her. I stayed to see the movie again and later I brought friends. Then I worked at a chiropractic clinic and the producer and the writer of the film become patients. I end up being invited to the Academy Awards that year, and Ellen Burstyn sat directly behind me! That was about 1980. Then in 1993--13 years later--these healings started coming through my hands!

The movie talked about the near death experience (a lot of people think that the reason this came to me is that I was still inside my mother when she died and then came back, almost as if I'd brought something back with me), and the healer. But Reconnection takes the focus off me. The usual concept of healers is very disempowering.

The Reconnection is empowering because it can be gifted to you. Anything I can do you can do as well. And it is hitting the mainstream. I recently spoke to a full house in Madison Square Garden--that's a lot of people! I just got a letter from the parents of a 5 year old with cerebral palsy who could not walk without holding onto furniture and walking on his toes with his hands in the air. He had been to therapist since he was born. We did a healing session and within 30 minutes he stood up, feet flat, arms down and could walk and run up and down the hallways. What's wonderful is that his father is a western MD and his mother, a nurse. Not only did the mother and father attend my seminars, but the child's therapist came.

And when I'm traveling and my assistant answers the phone--he can do this same work. One can get the information from my book. I'm not sure how one gets it from the book--from some encoded woo-woo frequency or what? But I do spend time in the book teaching the how to's and giving my best understanding of the frequencies.

Connie: Tell me more about what reconnecting the DNA strands means.

Eric: One story is that the earth at one time was run by groups from the Pleaidies--this still feels a bit out there to me but it is starting to make more sense. There was a power struggle over this planet which was a station of light and information. One group decided to take over this planet and, as the story goes, their scientists decided to disconnect 10 of our original strands of DNA. Those of us who are bringing through light and information onto the planet today are starting to reconnect the third strand. Then there is the scientific debate of trying to find the third strand and why haven't we found it before. There is research with the Indigo Children that recognizes this information. Others think the newer strands maybe electromagnetic or smaller strands that are difficult to see in the usual ways. We have to remember that just because science has not detected these strands does not mean it's not truth.
